Honda Performance Development (HPD) offers an optional contingency awards program. Cash rewards are presented per event based on finishing position. "My relationship with HPD starts back in 2008 with the Sports Car program. Through the years I’ve driven the FIT B-Spec asphalt and rally version as well as the Formula F and the Honda Civic in the Grand Am series. I also drove the CR-Z Hybrid in the 25 hours of Thunderhill. I am now driving full time in the IZOD IndyCar® Series with Sam Schmidt motorsports powered by Honda. I really think it’s cool to see HPD so present in grassroots motorsports! Mr. Honda said it all, "Honda would not be Honda if it was not racing"
