About HPD

Founded in 1993, Honda Performance Development designs and develops racing engines, and chassis and performance parts for a variety of motorsports applications. HPD also provides factory support and parts to grassroots racers, helping power their racing dreams.

Honda's first race car from 1974

Our History

Soichiro Honda's love for racing transformed a small motor company into a racing legend. At age 22, Mr. Honda himself set a Japanese speed record of 75 miles per hour using a converted Curtis Wright aircraft engine. In that moment, Honda Racing was born.
